SELLING YOUR BUSINESS

Let's face it ! Selling can be a daunting process. For those that don't feel that they have the people skills to get the job done, the Internet is a great means to bring your product or service to the masses. In today's Internet selling can be as fast as a click of the mouse. What really do you have to do to be successful in bringing your business up to the surface so that your customers can find you in a sea of on line business entrepreneurs?

Customer service is a must. No longer can you exchange a product or service for money and expect your customer to return. There are simply to many options for your customer to choose from. The hardest thing that you will have to do as a business owner is find your customers. It is probably the most expensive single challenge that a business owner has to deal with on a day to day basis. Keep in contact with your customer throughout the entire process of their transaction. Your customer wants to be informed of every step in your process so that they feel comfortable while they wait for their purchase to arrive. Offer your customer a reason to return to you and or a reason to recommend their friends to you. Word of mouth goes a long way when your customer can't see you physically. If by chance that there is an issue with your transaction, own up to it and take the blame. Your customer will appreciate you more for doing so and be more likely to forgive the slip. Follow up with your customer after the transaction has been completed. Selling on line in general is cold, after all the customer can't touch the product, can see your body language, and in most cases will be  with you for the first time. Bring them to ease, be professional but yet not to stuffy.

Make use of your business tools. Tools help us build things such as houses, cars, and furniture. Creating relationships with your customers is what will bring them back to you time and time again. Maintain a database and inform your customers of discounts, new product, retired product, any business functions that you might be attending or any local shows you might be at so that they can come and meet you. Using your customer database will allow you to communicate with your customer base be it through an email blast, newsletter, or a post card in the mail. Once you get a new customer, which we said earlier is one of the most expensive feats that you will perform, maintaining them will reduce the expense that is associated with that customer. Another business tool is your business card. That little card can be explosive when you drop it in your outgoing packages, even more when you meet strangers and introduce your business to them. After you have promoted your business to them. Ask them for their email address. Turn your business card over and let them write their email address on the back, take that from them and then in turn give them one of your cards. You have their email for your newsletter and they have your card with your information on it. Making use of your business tools is imperative in growing your business.
